Getting Ready To Be A Big Sister! {Maternity/Family}
Category: children, family, lifestyle, maternityAuthor: Lisa
I had the pleasure of capturing some family and maternity images for this sweet family. Marika and I go way back, when we randomly met each other in Vancouver, when we worked at the same hair salon. She is one of the sweetest humans I know, and it's been such an honor to be able to capture their journey as the family grows. So sweet to also capture their daughter at this precious age, as she is looking forward to becoming a big sister! ~xo Lisa.

I gotta say, when we booked this family shoot for mid afternoon at Kokanee Provincial Park my mind was on best location for a busy Saturday in full sun. Little did I think the temperature would drop, and we would have a wet weekend. I had checked the weather forecast, and given the percentage of rain still wasn't too worried. Driving out to the park I was feeling optimistic, and then it started to pour. Downpour. Because some family were in town visiting, this wasn't an easy shoot to reschedule and this was our second attempt as we were rained out in the Spring. So we waited...hoped it would let up a bit..and we had a small window to make it work.
Optimism, and wonderful people make a shoot in any weather work! Thanks for being good sports. ~Lisa.

What kid doesn't LOVE spring break!! This Calgary family headed back to the Kootenays to visit the grandparents, and get some ski days in at Whitewater. Part of what I love about my job is seeing kids grow up...and getting to document that for families. I've had the pleasure of doing pictures for this family before, and the kids are so easy to capture. Made it easy, despite the weather not co-operating! Usually rainy days call for a re-schedule. It's the nature of having an outdoor office. But they were not bothered by it...and with the fact that they were heading home....we went with it, and glad we did!
